Ill after surfing in Panama

Description

I went surfing for the first time yesterday at Palmar Beach in Panama, and all day today I've felt flu-like symptoms: headache, lack of appetite, some fever, qnd a very sore throat. I haven't been to the beach in a while, my flatmate suggested it might be that. But I've been to the beach after years of not going and have never felt this sick afterwards.
