Extreme itchiness after swimming in ocean

Only swam for maybe 15-30 minutes got out of water and extremely itchy all through bathing suit. Same with Friend, and 3 other people met at clean water rinse. Rinsed off and felt a little better, returned to beach, very itchy again, did not reenter water. Quickly changed out of bathing suit, wiped clean with towels, ok. My friend was still itchy and getting a rash, and she had changed. It was awful. I don't have a rash. This was not from broken Jellyfish, I know that sting.
