Without being aware of the pollution at Topanga Beach, I took my daughter there and she was playing in the ocean for about a half an hour, three days ago. She first complained of a stomach ache two hours after being in the water. She fell asleep and said she felt better the next morning. She later came down with a 102 degree fever a day later and today, on day three, her fever is at 103.8. She threw up yesterday and has had consistent body aches and shivers. We'll never make this mistake again. If her fever goes any higher we are immediately taking her to the physician.
